Module 1

Lyric writing & peformance

We start by brainstorming a song theme. If you are part of a group everyone will have the opportunity to offer suggestions and to provide creative input. You will work as a musical team to establish the lyrical framework for a simple pop song. We will then discuss the different ways in which a song can be constructed and decide on the best option for the lyrics provided. Next we need to add some musical content to those lyrics; you will get to choose an instrument to enhance the track, using sampled loops which can be digitally manipulated, or, if you have chosen to bring your own instrument with you, recording these parts live.

Module 2

Production phase

Once the instrumental and vocal parts are laid down, we begin post production, choosing the best takes of the recorded parts and adding effects to your song, You will get to learn some of the tricks and methods of the stars as you go.  

Module 3

Finally, you will have the opportunity to design and print your own CD-single sleeve art before we transfer your completed song to disk and USB.
